About the Role
As an employee of Stone Ridge Surgery Center, you are expected to act always for the good of our patients and in the best interest of the named entities. You shall always perform your job functions according to your qualifications and to the best of your ability.
Requirements
Taking vital signs, such as blood pressure, height, weight, and temperature.
Evaluating patient health through the use of H&P assessments.
Recording patient health history.
Communicating patient information to doctors, PAs, NPs, rad techs, LPNs and other personnel when appropriate, and in a clear and accurate manner.
Within the scope of your qualifications, assisting patients with prescriptions and medication refills.
Explaining to patients the various aspects of their medical care plan, as appropriate.
Preparing patients for procedures/surgeries, including assisting with draping, protective shielding positioning, and other procedure preparatory and cleanup tasks.
Drawing up medications or assisting a practitioner to draw up medications in anticipation of procedures.
Administering medication, as prescribed by a physician, PA, or NP.
Keeping accurate records of controlled medication inventory and ensuring the storage of controlled medications in a safe and secure manner.
Keeping detailed patient records, including charting patient notes.
Assisting patients on and off of patient beds and surgical tables.
Keeping abreast of current standards of practice through required reading and educational opportunities.
Taking personal responsibility for patient satisfaction by engaging all patients with a polite, professional, and friendly demeanor.
Starting IVs on patients when necessary.
